Customer Service Representative
Minnetonka, MN

Status: Full Time, Non-exempt

Purpose

This Customer Service Representative position is key for our North and South American sales. The principle function of this role is to maximize customer satisfaction while taking and fulfilling orders for our customers located in the United States, South America and Canada.

The primary purpose is to manage and facilitate the entire order fulfillment process within NatureWorks using our enterprise system. This position is the primary interface with our US polymer customers and will be responsible for representing their needs and expectations.

With regard to other team duties, this position will specifically be the 1st in line to answer our customer service center phone, test automated pricing for our pricing coordinator and back-up our Japan, sample and bulk domestic orders.
 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Enter orders into enterprise system, ADAGE, for USA/Canada/South America customers
  • Learn how to work within the ADAGE system
  • Manage daily shipment activity for our order fulfillment process
  • Create and distribute order status reports for your assigned customers
  • Coordinate logistic activities to ensure order fulfillment goals are achieved
  • Anticipate customer expectations and identify best solutions or alternatives for them
  • Balance customer expectations with the choice of low cost options for NatureWorks
  • Review and test pricing with pricing coordinator
  • Set up new customer accounts
  • Support account managers with gathering customer information
  • Collaborate and support other team members to help level work
     

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 4 years experience in customer service, supply chain or related fields desired
  • Access database, Outlook, Word, and Excel skills required at a proficient level
  • Ability to take on a high initiative level to service customers and make the best decisions for NatureWorks
  • Must be at an Intermediate level with Microsoft Excel or better
  • Ability to work well under pressure, respond to new challenges and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with the appropriate business audience both in person and over the phone
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and level
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and act with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent collaboration skills; ability to contribute to team-driven problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
  • Strong customer service orientation: ability to build relationships, understand customer requirements, and generate solutions that anticipate customer needs
     

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Office environment
  • Very limited travel due to training or visit to plant (Blair NE)
     

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or minimum 5 years experience in a supply chain or logistics
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a chemical or polymer manufacturing operation is preferred but not required
  • ERP system experience is preferred but not required

Reliability Engineer
Blair, NE

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Purpose

Facilitate development & implementation of the facility maintenance strategy, and solves reliability and availability losses through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its business plan. This result is achieved by focusing on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically has impacted the plant’s measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as “high-risk” in risk assessments, reliability models, etc.
 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Achieve AC (Asset Capability) and AMR (Asset Mechanical Reliability) business objectives.
  • Facilitation and implementation of the RCI process to include application of the cause and effect methodology in all areas where reliability opportunities are identified and where the RCI triggers are met.
  • Maintains a reliability model that identifies the unit operations, equipment, process, etc. that identifies the value of opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluates and quantifies the impact projects such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment quality, etc will have on ability to meet customer needs.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and PPM through the use of reliability engineering principles/tools such as RCM analysis, FMEA, etc….
  • Asset utilization and cost data is analyzed to develop and prioritize a list of reliability opportunities.
  • Focuses on reliability issues and not fire fighting issues.
  • Evaluates/validates the impact of corrective actions that impact availability and/or reliability and leverages solutions across plants/site if appropriate.
  • Provides reliability input to Capital Project activities.
  • Participates in front end loading activities such as: Process Simplification, Value Engineering, Maintenance Strategy, Reliability Modeling, etc.
     

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, FMEA, RCM, RBI, Modeling, etc.) to increase AC and AMR.
  • Participates in plant assessments study and efforts to implement corrective action to maintain or improve plant conditions.
  • Applies long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to design reliability into our purchasing requirements.
  • Provide equipment reliability and performance data to establish MET (Most Effective Technology) for the business.
  • Uses long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to optimize spare parts stockage levels (Utilizing SOS, etc.).
  • Develop and implement operating discipline that will improve reliability.
  • Utilizes six sigma tools and methodologies to improve reliability (future).
  • Assists the PPM coordinator in setting up & evaluating the PPM program.
     

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
  • 5 yr. minimum Maintenance or Reliability experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility.
  • Training desired in all or some areas of Weibull, RCI, FMEA, RCM, RBI, Modeling, etc. facilitation.
