London Marathon Village, April 18 - 21

To open the Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month program of events, NatureWorks LLC will sponsor a Wellness Zone inside the London Marathon Village, stand number 065. In keeping with the 2007 message about a new taste for life, and in partnership with Chieti University, this unique facility will feature specialist osteopathic practitioners from the Symrun Center, coordinated by professor Felice Festa. The practitioners will use products made from Ingeo fiber to help raise awareness around this new eco-fiber and demonstrate how these items mirror the needs of both professionals and consumers regarding environmental and personal care matters.

The Wellness Zone will be available to athletes, press and visitors inside the Marathon Village and will also include a Creative Gallery featuring a full range of our partners’ products made with NatureWorks polymer and Ingeo fiber. Visitors will be available to touch, feel and see the potential of these innovative brands. This taste for life from NatureWorks LLC will be catered with fresh fruit in our eco-punnets from Marks & Spencer as well as mineral water in bottles by Belu.

Hofstra University Roundtable, April 19

NatureWorks LLC is pleased to participate in Hofstra’s conference to discuss the culture of clothing and its status and identity in the context of sustainability and the environment. Ingeo™ fiber has already created a stir in the fashion business with the help of such brands as Moral Fervor, Bagutta, Versace Sport, Coexist and Linda Loudermilk, all of whom share a vision for sustainability with style.

The theme is ‘Defining Culture Through Dress: Individual And Collective Identities’. The platform will include Summer Rayne Oakes, ‘the ECO- Model’ and defining environmental provocateur whose work in fashion, media and sustainability business consulting is well known around the world. A communicator with candor and passion, Summer Rayne Oakes edits such magazines as Lucire, highlighting product origins and ethics in its ‘Behind the Label’ section. Oakes is currently designing her own fair trade organic clothing line due for launch later this year.

The forum will be chaired by Dr. Rusty Moore, Marketing and International business professor for Hofstra, and Harold Koda, Curator-in-Charge of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will give the keynote address. They will be joined by Lexy Funk, president of Brooklyn Industries and by Steve Davies, global marketing director NatureWorks LLC.

The University will stage an exclusive view of a Creative Clothing Gallery, organized with the help of NatureWorks LLC to showcase everything from haute couture to Levi jeans. The CDSB Jailwear fashion show on the 20th of April will be presenting a collection that includes apparel using fabrics made from Ingeo™ fiber. The collection is all about experimentation where tradition and innovation meet while embodying nature and freedom of expression. The collection uses sustainable materials and finishing while focusing on social responsibility at a fundamental level.

The Launch Pad Showroom, April 24

In the heart of SoHo, NatureWorks LLC will bring together all the latest Ingeo™ fiber fashions from around the world including Naturevsfuture, Brooklyn Industries and Linda Loudermilk, to name a few. Together they will create an Ingeo fiber commercial fashion showcase for the press and media.

The opening of the showroom will be hosted by The Launch Pad and Moral Fervor, whose contemporary collection is also represented in the showroom. The showroom will offer an organic brunch catered by Organic Avenue on April 24th from noon until 2pm. The brunch will focus on delicious fresh food, drinks and water served simply in NatureWorks® polymer-based disposable serviceware and bottles. Our Earth Month partner, Blue Lake Citrus, will provide 100% pure squeezed juices from their Noble Juice brand that are packaged in their “E Bottle,” which is made from NatureWorks polymer. Another partner, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, will provide their specialty coffee for the event serving it in their eco-friendly cups, which are lined with NatureWorks polymer.  From fashion to forks, the event embodies the complete story of responsible innovation in everyday life through a new creative vision for shopping and living.

Some of the other brands that will be displayed include: Millets, Rianne De Witte, Fox River, Salewa, A Style, Jaloe, Nadia Fassi and Codice a Sbarre. The showroom and display will be open for the duration of Ingeo NatureWorks Earth Month.

London Roundtable, April 24

In the heart of London, NatureWorks LLC will host an industry roundtable discussion that will focus on how to appreciate a new and sustainable standard of extraordinary everyday living.

The event will bring together leading figures from the key partner brands in the UK including: Reed Paget, managing director of Belu Water; Dan Boxer, president of Easy Gardener; Bruce Code from Renault and Kate Fish of BSR. The central discussion topic will focus on how responsible innovation can become a day-to-day, accessible reality to consumers. Each representative will discuss what responsible innovation means to their brand and how they are establishing this within their company ethos. Every speaker will contribute towards a view of how, collectively, they can bring responsible innovation to all consumers.

The venue for the roundtable event is the National Magazine House and the discussion will be supported by an artistic display of all products made from Natureworks® polymer and Ingeo™ fiber, ranging from apparel to packaging. Goodie-bags for attendees will include samples of CARGO Cosmetics PlantLove™ lipstick that uses an innovative plastic tube made from NatureWorks® polymer. The select guests and speakers will be treated to a spread of eco-friendly packaged food and drink.

Brooklyn Industries, April 26

Exclusive Brooklyn Industries t-shirts made from Ingeo™ fiber and created to celebrate Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month will be showcased in a new and provocative window display about sustainability at the original Chelsea store in New York. Brooklyn Industries is an edgy design boutique chain that started by making clothes out of recycled materials for the hipster set combining high creativity with an environmental perspective. They will host an evening organic cocktail reception catered by Organic Avenue to mark Ingeo NatureWorks Earth Month.

The reception will feature a complete array of refreshments and food. Our partner, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, will provide their specialty coffee for the event serving it in their eco-friendly cups, which are lined with NatureWorks polymer. Another Earth Month partner, Blue Lake Citrus, will provide a variety of 100% pure squeezed juices from their Noble Juice brand that are packaged in their “E Bottle,” which is also made from NatureWorks polymer. The Brooklyn Industries event will also feature cosmetic wipes and displays of how Ingeo fiber is made – available to all the media, press and likeminded eco-cool protagonists of New York and beyond.

Friends of the Earth - Tree Planting Challenge, April 29

Following the events in London and New York, NatureWorks LLC will take part in a special tree planting event, organized by Friends of the Earth in Hong Kong, to help reforest an area of the Tai Lam Country Park that was damaged by fire at the end of last year. In cooperation with Growth Pack, all participants will receive a t-shirt made from Ingeo™ fiber printed with the Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month logo. Growth Pack and NatureWorks LLC will share a joint announcement to the press and public that will underscore our combined commitment to environmental stewardship.

The Festival of Fitness is the perfect venue to learn more about better life choices. LOHAS 11 Forum, May 15

NatureWorks LLC is a proud sponsor of the LOHAS 11 Forum in May this year as part of Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month. The LOHAS Forum is a premiere global event that focuses on how business, media and entertainment can be leveraged to educate, shape and influence consumer behaviour, while promoting Lifestyles Of Health and Sustainability.
