Fox River
COMPANY PROFILE
Fox River Mills, Inc. was founded in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1900 and got its name from its location in the Fox River Valley. During its first 60 years, Fox River manufactured socks, mittens and gloves for traditional sportsmen and in the early 1960s, Fox River extended its product line to include new and innovative styles and colors to keep pace with the expanding active sports market. In 1985 Fox River began manufacturing hosiery under the award winning Wick Dry® brand name. This commitment to meet consumers’ expectations continued with innovations the anatomical styles, and the naturally antimicrobial X-STATIC® , the Silver Fiber® socks, 4 styles of which have been certified by NASA for use in the space program. The growth of Fox River Mills can be significantly credited to the efforts of the Lessard family, who still own and operate the company along with the dedication of more than 300 hard-working, long-term employees drawn from Osage and surrounding communities.
PRODUCTS AND PARTICIPATION
Responsible innovation is the mantra of high-performance sock maker Fox River. For Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month, the company’s new socks are made from Ingeo™ fiber derived from 100% annually renewable resources. Fox River Bio-Fiber socks come in styles to fit men and women and feature new colors and designs and specifically uses a non-genetically modified raw material offset program for its Ingeo™ fiber to even further reduce its imprint on the environment.
