MINNETONKA, Minn. – June 5, 2005 – Maintaining its position at the leading edge of the fresh-cut produce industry, Pacific Pre-Cut is now using rigid containers from nature-based NatureWorks® PLA for many of its “salad kits” distributed at the retail level.
Headquartered in Tracy, Calif., Pacific Pre-Cut is the leading distributor of prepared salad kits. The kits add convenience value for retailers looking to provide customers with the freshest salads, without the hassle of preparing the ingredients in-store. The product consists of salad basics, such as chopped lettuce, shredded carrots, sliced onions, tomatoes, protein and salad dressing, as well as a NatureWorks PLA container to package the salad for consumers.
