Tamshui Fisherman’s Wharf Eco Center opens in Taiwan while at the same time NatureWorks LLC sponsors the two day LOHAS 11 Forum in Los Angeles, the premiere global environmental event that focuses on promoting Lifestyles Of Health and Sustainability.

Watch out for the New York launch of sustainable Ingeo™ t-shirts at the hip Chelsea boutique of Brooklyn Industries. Then take the chance to review all of these products and more at the Launch Pad showroom in New York for the duration of Ingeo NatureWorks Earth Month.

A new important player joins us in packaging: Risupack, a major supplier to the food and retail industry, has produced a full range of NatureWorks® polymer ingredient branded packaging for the Japanese market. The products will be seen and touched at Fabex in Tokyo, April 18-20.

THE CREATIVE GALLERIES

All of these events and promotions will be supported by one of NatureWorks LLC’s ‘pop-up’ Creative Gallery displays, each one tailored locally to suit the venue, audience and interest while showing a full range of innovative products made from NatureWorks® polymer and Ingeo™ fiber.

Find everything you need from a wardrobe full of fashion, to how you furnish your home, to how you can care for and pamper yourself to new ways in how you buy the food you eat and beverages you drink all packaged in this new generation of eco-packaging solutions.

Japanese innovation brings its own unique contribution to the Creative Gallery, for the first time. A whole new lifestyle product category is now available from individual leaders in their field.

High technology innovation combines with responsible thinking in the Walkman® WM-FX202 and Portable Radio ICR-P10 from Sony, a company and brand dedicated to creative lifestyle product design. The casings for Walkman® and the blister package of the radio have been made from NatureWorks® polymer.

High technology innovation combines with responsible thinking in a new generation of PC from Fujitsu, where the housings have been made from NatureWorks® polymer resin. Starting with just a small part for PC’s as early as 2002, Fujitsu was the first to lead and develop the application of NatureWorks® bio-polymer for IT products as well as the embossed carrier tape needed to ship LSI chips in bulk.

Panasonic - Matsushita Battery Industrial Co, Ltd is supplying NatureWorks® polymer-based blister packaging for batteries.

We are pleased to showcase innovative packaging design from the premier UK high street retailer Marks & Spencer, who is ahead of the pack in terms of pioneering and implementing environmental and sustainability issues which are exactly in line with the meaning behind the NatureWorks® polymer product and mission.

And last but not least, a new range of home spa candles from Prod Logi Co., LTD (BsaB brand) in Thailand, will be on display during Ingeo NatureWorks Earth Month with packaging made from NatureWorks polymer to protect and preserve the product as well as promote a clear eco-modern style.

All this is possible because of the revolutionary NatureWorks® polymer, made from 100% annually renewable plant resources and not the traditional, limited precious fossil fuels.

Because of its natural origins and specialized manufacturing, NatureWorks® polymer uses 68 percent less fossil fuel resources than traditional, petrochemical based plastics. This also means that CO2 emissions are greatly reduced creating a reduced carbon footprint for us all. This innovation creates the building blocks NatureWorks LLC’s partners have used to transform the consumer landscape with this full range of mainstream alternative lifestyle products.

WHAT’S UP IN THE UK

Natureworks LLC Launches In London With Ingeo™ Natureworks® Earth Month 2007

Initiated to demonstrate that eco-friendly products can be stylish, great quality and good value, Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month will open in London this April. The UK will host a dedicated programme of events as part of this global initiative, including inspiring exhibitions, fashion displays and discussions on pressing environmental issues.

Its core message will be promoted in the UK through a series of events held in London and led by a collaboration of forward-thinking brands that have already made 100% sustainable products a viable option to their customers by adopting Natureworks® polymer and Ingeo™ fibre into their ranges. These include representatives from a wide range of industry sectors such as Marks & Spencer packaging, Belu Water, Millets outdoor wear and A-style fashion clothing.

A-style, the Italian street-wear brand, recently launched in London has created an Earth Month 2007 t-shirt made from 100% Ingeo™ fibre. The t-shirt is to be included in the spring and summer collection to emphasize the synergy between style and sustainability. Through visiting every natural mineral source in the UK, Belu water prides itself in being the cleanest and freshest in the country. Committed to lowering their carbon footprint, Belu water comes bottled in alternative bio-plastic made from Natureworks® polymer. Millets is part of the Blacks Leisure Group PLC and is the first outdoor company in the UK to develop a range of environmentally sound high performance clothing made with Ingeo™ fibre. Innovative packaging design will be showed in the Creative Galleries by Marks & Spencer, the premier UK high street retailer, who is ahead of the pack in terms of pioneering and implementing environmental and sustainability issues which are exactly in line with the meaning behind the NatureWorks® polymer product and mission.

Mark Vergauwen, Regional Manager, Europe, for Natureworks LLC comments, “We are very pleased to bring Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month to the UK and are excited about the positive impact our activities will have. We are greatly encouraged by the support from our partner retailers in the UK and feel London is the perfect host for our events programme. The range of products now available with a low carbon footprint is huge and still growing. As well as demystifying the concept of 'eco-friendly living', Ingeo™ NatureWorks® Earth Month is our way of making the consumer aware of these easily accessible, environmentally-friendly alternatives so that they can make an informed choice when buying both everyday items and style-focused products.”

London will play host to two not-to-be-missed events, kicking off with a relaxation-themed exhibition in the marathon village from 18 to 22 April. The exhibition will comprise a creative display of the partner brands’ products emphasizing the range of environmentally-friendly alternatives already available on the market using Natureworks® polymer and Ingeo™ fibre. Visitors will literally be able to taste and touch a more responsible lifestyle experience and enjoy sampling and shopping the eco-friendly way. In the minimal and calm atmosphere of the booth, people will be invited to relax and invigorate with an energizing massage treatment from one of four top osteopaths of the Symrun Center – a partner of the University of Chieti.

As part of the marathon activity there is the opportunity for a journalist and partner to win a pampering experience at La Ginestra Hotel, situated in the Marches region of Montelparo, Italy.

This will be followed by an industry roundtable discussion held on the morning of the 24 April. The event will bring together leading figures from the key partner brands in the UK including: Reed Paget, managing director of Belu Water; Dan Boxer, president of Easy Gardener; Bruce Code from Renault and Kate Fish of BSR. The central discussion topic will focus on how responsible innovation can become a day-to-day, accessible reality to consumers. Each representative will discuss what responsible innovation means to their brand and how they are establishing this within their company ethos. Every speaker will contribute towards a view of how, collectively, they can bring responsible innovation to all consumers.

The venue for the roundtable event is the National Magazine House and the discussion will be supported by an artistic display of all products made from Natureworks® polymer and Ingeo™ fibre, ranging from apparel to packaging. Goodie-bags filled with samples from CARGO Cosmetics Plant Love™, with innovative lipstick tube made entirely from NatureWorks® polymer, will be distributed. The select guests and speakers will be treated to a spread of eco-friendly packaged food and drink.
