Pierluigi Fucci and Ingeo™ Fiber up on Milan's Catwalks

Milan - February 19th, 2005 - In a collection designed for “warrior” women, androgynous in their femininity and inspired by a blend of contrasts, a new jacket made of Ingeo™ fiber stands out from the pack thanks to its unique elegance and refined character.

Pierluigi Fucci, a designer who has achieved notoriety thanks not only to his creativity, but also to his capacity of continuously research and discover new solutions and innovative materials to work with, chose once again to apply Ingeo fiber in his new collection. The fiber has been utilized in a sophisticated jacket, the exterior fabric of which is composed of a blend with Royal Baby Alpaca, one of the most prestigious yarns produced by Lanificio dell'Olivo. The jacket fill will be composed of Thermore and Ingeo fiber.

Pierluigi Fucci's outlook is in complete harmony with the guiding philosophy of Ingeo fiber: a blend of creativity, quality and responsible innovation.

Ingeo fiber is the first man-made fiber created from 100% annually renewable resources. A novel product that combines the best of both worlds: the performance of a synthetic fiber and the advantages of a natural material. Because it is derived entirely from natural sources, Ingeo fiber contributes to reducing our dependence on limited fossil fuel resources such as oil.

Note to Editors:
Ingeo represents a new brand concept based on the principles of sustainability – economic viability, social responsibility and environmental soundness. Ingeo is the world's first man-made fiber derived from 100% annually renewable resources.

The process to make Ingeo fiber is based on the fermentation of simple plant sugars to create a proprietary polymer that can then be spun into a fiber. Ingeo fiber is ideally suited for a range of textile products and applications where it competes with traditional fibers on a price and performance basis.
