Moving the Planet Ingeo™ Fiber Hosts Earth Month for the Second Year
INGEO EARTH MONTH: April 22 - May 31 2006. A victorious debut always inspires a strong return: Ingeo™ fiber, made from greenhouse gas-neutral* NatureWorks® PLA resin, is proud to announce the second ever "Ingeo Earth Month". Initially established by NatureWorks LLC in 2005, Ingeo Earth Month supports a host of designers, brands, retailers all working with Ingeo fiber.
Coinciding with the United Nations' Earth Day celebration (April 22nd), Ingeo Earth Month is a month long series of events that include round table discussions, activities, sales initiatives and more, all designed to raise both public and professional awareness surrounding the importance of innovation, and to highlight the range of style led yet sustainable products that are now commercially available.
While Ingeo Earth Month had previously focused its attention on the apparel sector, this year, for the first time ever, two new areas of the industry will be involved in the initiative: home textiles and personal hygiene products (for example, baby wipes, , cleaning materials and baby diapers ). The addition of products in these two sectors broadens Ingeo fiber's involvement in the textile sector, offering hands-on proof of the way this novel new fiber has gained acceptance and is receiving fantastic feedback from all areas of industry. NatureWorks LLC, with Ingeo fiber-based products and with NatureWorks PLA, offers the modern consumer a new and exciting range of more responsible materials choices. Many sustainable products are now available in a large range of applications: from apparel and home textile, to personal hygiene and packaging.
Ingeo Earth Month initiative provides retailers with a golden opportunity to highlight their latest product innovations, offering the public a broad range of goods that include clothing, interior design furnishings, fabrics, yarns and more. With Ingeo Earth Month everyone benefits, but most of all we can together protect the future of our planet. Ingeo fiber helps prove that industry can still make a profit yet helps protect all our futures, whilst offering consumers a new 'eco' choice.
Ingeo fiber, the first and only manmade fiber created from 100% annually renewable resources, is an innovative product that combines the best of both worlds: the performance of a synthetic fiber and the appeal of a natural material. And because it is derived entirely from natural sources, Ingeo fiber helps to reduce our dependence on limited fossil fuel resources such as oil.
Ingeo Earth Month 2006 is set to be a truly global event. Representing an important breakthrough for a country that is the world's number one textiles producer, China has been chosen as the host country for round table discussions on sustainability issues. This is solid proof that the Far East is also looking to sustainable solutions for the future of the textiles industry.
Ingeo Earth Month is more than an international celebration; it is a unique communication and merchandising project. It creates a new retail opportunity for Ingeo fiber its commercial partners during what is generally a quiet trading time.
Please stay alert for upcoming press releases that will provide further details about this year's Ingeo Earth Month, including a list of participating commercial partners, events, activities, initiatives, countries involved, sales points and more…
Change is possible. Choice is available. And Ingeo fiber, the first and only man-made fiber produced from 100% annually renewable resources - not oil, is already making a difference, one yarn, one fabric, one garment at a time.
