September 12, 2006 - SS 2007 Brand Adoptions
Minnetonka, MN - September 12, 2006 - Having made an impressive debut into fashion circles in 2003, Ingeo™ fiber has already threaded its way into some winning outfits produced by designers from across the globe. And, looking at the new Spring/Summer 07 collections, Ingeo™ fiber can certainly expect to celebrate more success in 2007.
Just three years after its worldwide launch, Ingeo™ fiber held a high-impact, global event - Earth Month 2006 - celebrating Ingeo™ fiber products and highlighting sustainable issues. The event had the support of more than 50 companies which included both home furnishing and personal hygiene sectors for the very first time. No small feat for such a young fibre!
Last year, Ingeo™ fiber enjoyed positioning within more than fifty retail outlets. This year the number has expanded to more than 600 stores worldwide and the number continues to grow Today. Exciting brands are continuing getting ready to launch new Ingeo™ fiber product in Spring/Summer 2007. Here are just some of the highlights:
FASHION WEEK NY SS 07 - USA
Moral Fervour: A young brand based in USA, Moral Fervor, firmly believes that through their unique designs they can raise awareness of the environmental, social and political issues most close to their heart. Their t-shirt collections are inspired by important worldwide issues with the aim of making the consumer aware and inspiring them to act by taking responsibility for the world we live in and the one that we leave to future generations.
Moral Fervour's Spring/Summer 2007 collection, which will also feature natural fibres bamboo and lyocell, uses Ingeo™ fiber within t-shirt designs for men and women. The t-shirts are made of Tintex fabric displaying images in print and embroidery that evoke nature. The collections for both men and women are inspired by endangered species as well as the importance of biodiversity. For a truly holistic range, the t-shirts will also be packaged in materials made from bio-based NatureWorks® PLA.
A fashion show launching the designs will be held in New York on the 6th of September, 2007 and nonwoven Ingeo™ fiber bags will be produced as gifts for the party. What's more, the t-shirts will be available online through www.moralfervor.com where their autumn 2006 t-shirts, also made entirely from Ingeo™ fiber, will be made available throughout the USA, Canada and Europe. A percentage of their proceeds will go to Partners in Health, a non-profit organization that helps the world's poorest through curing disease and improving their standard of living.
Linda Loudermilk: Linda Loudermilk has always been a committed pioneer of eco fashion, without compromise. It is no surprise therefore that she is developing a sustainable collection using natural raw materials such as bamboo, soy and, for first time in her ranges, Ingeo™ fiber.
Linda Loudermilk's work will be on display at the Train Trade Show during New York Fashion Week. Expect to see her existing denim collection and an Ingeo™ fiber range made from a selection of Tintex, Calamai and Chia Her fabrics.
Elisa Jimenez: Elisa Jimenez is an artist who moved into the fashion arena in 1999. Renowned for her expressive style, fusing fashion and art with her unique "free cutting" construction style, Elisa will be launching a high fashion couture dress, made from Ingeo™ fiber nonwoven fabric by Famajersey.
At the Mixed Greens Gallery in Chelsea during New York Fashion Week, she will show several looks on the runway, linking with her "10 yrs with Change: a Celebration of an Accidental Collaborative Career" - a retrospective look at her 10 years in fashion. The dresses will reflect the ultimate fashion of the time, showing high couture dresses, as well as two-piece outfits based on years of collaboration with specific clients. Each client will wear their inspired Ingeo™ fiber piece which will reflect elements of both couture and works of art.
