NEW YARNS for SPRING/SUMMER 2007Milan, 13th September 2005 - Ingeo™ fiber – the first and only man-made fiber created from 100% annually renewable resources – is proud to announce the production of a series of new fabrics and yarns. These new products join established Ingeo fiber products already available, many of which are included here below.
Ingeo fiber is a novel product that combines the best of both worlds: the performance of a synthetic fiber and the advantages of a natural material. And because it is derived entirely from natural sources, Ingeo fiber contributes to reducing our dependence on limited fossil fuel resources such as oil, the higher costs of which are currently being seen by the textile industry at large. This successful blend of environmental soundness, aesthetic appeal and proven performance are combining to propel Ingeo fiber products to affirmed international success.
These most recent commercial fabrics – the newest developments for AW 2006-2007 – will be showcased by the following global “partners” at textile exhibitions starting this September:
Fabrics • Avelana – presenting plain woven fabrics in 100% Ingeo fiber for fashion separates. • Bel Maille – presenting weft knit fabrics in 100% Ingeo fiber piece dye for the high fashion market. • Chia Her – presenting a small range of woven fabrics combining Ingeo fiber with wool and cotton in twists and slub yarns. • Cotonificio Veneto – presenting fleece and garment dyed jersey double face fabrics in Ingeo fiber mixed with cotton. • Everwin – presenting a range of fabrics in Ingeo fiber blended with cotton. • Figli di Michelangelo Calamai – presenting a range of different fabric structures: corded fabrics, interlock, fleece in 100% Ingeo fiber and vanisé with Ingeo fiber blended with cotton. • Fountain Set – presenting a new range of nearly 40 jersey fabrics in 100% Ingeo fiber solid piece dye, and in Ingeo fiber blended with cotton including a small range of heather mixtures. • Gipitex by ITP – presenting new range of woven filament outerwear - a specialist filament mill working in partnership with Ingeo fiber to uncover the full potential of new yarns, structures and finishes. • Louis Vidon – presenting a range of very light weft knit fabrics in 100% Ingeo fiber for intimate wear garments. • Mario Cucchetti – presenting jersey qualities in 100% Ingeo fiber and blends with cotton. • Pacific Textiles - will show a range of Ingeo fiber staple and filament fabrics, including 5 new fabrics in blends with natural fibers. • Pontetorto – presenting fleece and interlock in 100% Ingeo fiber; double face jersey combined with Ingeo fiber cotton and wool. • Radici Tessuti – presenting a range of woven fabrics in 100% Ingeo fiber and blended with cotton and linen with waterproof membrane laminate finishes. • Tessitura Romanò – presenting a range of 100% Ingeo fiber woven fabrics. • Tintex – presenting a range of super smooth jersey fabrics (Interlock, rib, single jersey and fleece) in 100% Ingeo fiber. This is new entry represents a group of fabric and finishing specialists from Portugal.
Yarns • Antex will present a range of flat and texturized yarns made from 100% Ingeo fiber. • At their Intertextile booth, Far Eastern Textiles will be offering Ingeo fiber staple for apparel and filled bedding products. In addition to conventional staple and filament yarns, company's yarn division will show new entangled yarns with Ingeo fiber filament as the core around which other natural fibers are spun. The woven division will feature fabrics made of Ingeo fiber staple and filament yarns, including several new qualities based on ideas developed from the Ingeo fiber Innovation presentation. • Both Ghezzi and Leitsu will present further developments of specialty filament yarns. • Maclodio will present a range of yarns made from 100% Ingeo fiber and blends with natural fibers. • Radici Group will present dope dyed yarns made from 100% Ingeo fiber. • FilManMade will present a range of counts in Ingeo fiber spun yarns for jersey and woven fabrics.
Innovation in Fiberfill for Apparel Furthermore Thermore, a world leader in the production of insulating fill for clothing, will present its Thermore Natural line made with Ingeo fiber in different weights (80 / 115 /150) and types (high loft and super compact) at fairs around the world.
These new products take their place alongside numerous initiatives underway across the textile industry, all of which contribute to strengthening Ingeo fiber's position as a leading global fiber.
