Good, Better, Best:
| INGEO™ FIBER REVEALS CONTINUED INNOVATION AT HEIMTEXTIL FOR THE 3RD YEAR |
Thanks to commercial success and continued proven appeal, Ingeo™ is taking its game up a notch at Heimtextil, helping focus industry attention on fundamental change towards sustainability
This year's Heimtextil marks the third showcasing of Ingeo fiber to the hometexiles market. NatureWorks LLC will once again profile the ever increasing applications and development at this most important global textile trade venue, now boasting a total of nine commercial applications, an increase from the 5 of last year . These include: pillows, duvets, blankets, cushions, mattresses, casing & ticking fabrics, draperies, and sun protection blind systems.
In 2005, Ingeo fiber participated in its second year at Heimtextil, drawing attention to the its inherent and impressive performance, so much so, NatureWorks LLC, which developed Ingeo fiber, can now boast an Ingeo fiber presence in more than 12,000 retail doors worldwide - just two years after its official launch. This is a statement to both what the brand itself represents as well as the fiber's unique advantages and performance characteristics. Ingeo fiber is the first man-made fiber created from 100% annually renewable resources - not oil. It combines the performance of traditional synthetic fibers and the touch and feel of a natural material. And because it is derived entirely from natural sources, Ingeo fiber contributes to reducing our dependence on limited fossil fuel resources such as oil , the increasing costs of which is currently being felt by the textile industry at large. Ingeo fiber is made from NatureWorks® PLA, the first greenhouse-gas-neutral* polymer.

The more established applications such as Duvets and Pillows are being offered by even more partners as well as being sold commercially at both branded outlets and multiples such as Carrefour and Galleries Lafayette.
Some product highlights include Abeil, Badenia and Frankenstolz who are all using Ingeo fiberfill for its excellent loft and resilience combined with inherent hypoallergenic characteristics and a soft natural touch that compliments blends with other natural eco based fibers such as cotton and bamboo. Zambaiti has designed a whole new range of exciting colour block blankets that combine creativity with function with inherent thermal properties, resistance to fire and good odor release. More details of products and partners will follow.
Commercial successes such as these are a good demonstration Ingeo fiber's power, but NatureWorks LLC sets its sights much higher.
To this end, Heimtextil has invited representatives from NatureWorks LLC and its Ingeo fiber team to be part of a roundtable discussion to explore the issues of responsible innovation and sustainability within the industry, where Ingeo fiber will play a key role in the event and explore the issues the textile industry is facing. The discussion will involve speakers from all levels of the international home textile market.
Alongside this discussion, Ingeo fiber will also be present in a "creative gallery" of new commercial products presented as responsible innovation by industry leaders to give the public a hands on opportunity to see the way technology, performance and above all creativity can be brought together to create real contemporary products that will appeal to today's modern consumer.
A full list of partners and products, as well as additional information on the Ingeo fiber sponsored events will be made available in a full press release scheduled for the fair.
Change is possible. Choice is available. And Ingeo fiber, the first and only man-made fiber produced from 100% annually renewable resources - not oil.
