MINNETONKA, Minn., July 9, 2008 – NatureWorks LLC is pleased to welcome its new Chinese spunbond partner, CL Chemical Fibers, and the signing of the fourth Ingeo™ Master License Agreement (MLA) this year Founded in 1993 and based in Wenzhou China, the company now joins the growing membership of fibers & nonwovens manufacturers who are benefiting from strong Ingeo market growth driven by the increasing consumer desire for more responsible, eco-friendly solutions.

CL Fiber is the first licensed Ingeo spunbond producer to offer a full range of 100% Ingeo spunbond fabrics. Having five state-of-the-art customized production lines with a production rate of more than 12,000 tons, the company is ISO 9000 – 2000 quality-certified for its broad range of specialized applications. "Our partnership with NatureWorks LLC is a key part of our company’s commitment to research and technology where social responsibility and the environment are also at the core of our management policy. Now, with Ingeo, we can offer the reality of distinctive products that can deliver more relevant attributes as well as high performance to our customers who are looking for ways to help protect the environment" said Sammy Chen, Global Sales Director of CL Chemical Fiber.

Ingeo represents an ingenious new material that’s made from plants, not oil. Derived entirely from annually renewable plant resources, Ingeo uses 65% percent less fossil fuel resources than traditional polymers such as polyester and nylon and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 80-90%. This makes Ingeo a unique brand catalyst for lower carbon footprint products for the nonwovens industry as well as fibers for apparel and home products.

Building on the last five years of market development with Ingeo nonwovens, NatureWorks and CL Chemical Fibers are capitalizing on the growing global demand for more environmentally friendly performance materials to take the lead in consumer lifestyle product development.

"We are impressed with the speed at which CL Fiber has developed a full line of quality 100% Ingeo spunbond fabrics. The company is already a step ahead of its competition in understanding the message behind Ingeo and as the first licensed supplier of 100% Ingeo spunbond material. We look forward to a strong partnership for nonwoven innovation in Asia-Pacific and beyond" commented Robert Green for NatureWorks LLC.

NatureWorks LLC, CL Chemical Fibers and Ingeo: making contemporary products for everyone to make better choices. Better for the planet, and so better for consumers and ultimately better for business.
