New Report from SPC Highlights the Role Compostable Packaging Plays in Diverting Food Waste from Landfills

The report notes how “…compostable packaging can be part of healthy biological loops in the circular economy, diverting food waste from landfills, and contributing to compost that helps soil serve as a carbon sink.”

The report further explores current residential access to industrial composting infrastructure in the US and Canada where it states, “We can see that not only does composting exist in greater numbers than expected, but a notable amount of facilities and programs accept food waste and compostable packaging.” Read the Report.
